The blintz base, book fold method
A blintz is to fold all four corners to the centre. Traditionally you mark the centre with a diagonal or median cross. The book fold method provides landmarks that are easier to feel: Fold the paper as a book that may be opened, fold the raw corners in along the folded edge, and then open the book fold again.

Folding
The front of the paper faces you.
- Hold the paper with an edge in top and bottom.
- Fold edge to edge, like you would close a book, forming a median fold.
- Rotate to bring the folded edge to the top.
- From the front layer, fold the lower, left corner up and to the right, so the left edge ends up along the folded top edge.
- From the front layer, fold the lower, right corner up and to the left, so the right edge ends up along the folded top edge.
- The shape is now two times one. In the front a large triangle is split in the middle.
- Turn over the model left to right, bringing the smooth side to the front and keeping the folded edge at the top.
- Once again, fold the two lower corners of the front layer, up and in to the centre, så the former side edges lie along the top edge.
- Open the book fold.
- The shape is a square with folded edges that proceed into triangles that lie with the base a the edge and the top at the centre of the paper. The triangles cover all the square.
