Triangle base
The four edges are brought together and laid flat out as a right-angled triangle with two points to each side at the bottom. This is one of the central bases. The triangle base resembles the square base which brings the four corners together.

To fold this easily, make sure to fold the medians and the diagonals from each their side of the paper.
Medians
- If the paper has a front side, start with that on the front.
- Hold the paper with a horizontal edge at the top and the bottom.
- Fold the bottom edge to the top. Mark sharply, and unfold.
- Rotate the paper 90 degrees, keeping the same side in front.
- Fold the bottom edge to the top. Mark sharply, and unfold.
- The median creases divide the paper into four squares, separated by valleys.
Diagonals
- Turn over the paper so that mountain creases are in front, and hold it with corners at the top and bottom.
- Fold the bottom corner to the top, and unfold.
- Rotate the paper 90 degrees, keeping the same side in front.
- Fold the bottom corner to the top.
- The shape is a large triangle with an open corner at the top and a folded edge at the bottom. It is divided into two smaller triangles by a mountain fold in the centre. They are divided by a valley fold into even smaller triangle.
Assembly
- Hold around the bottom left and and right triangles, one hand for each.
- Bring the triangles upwards and towards each other. The layers at the top corner will separate and pop outwards as points from the model, one behind and one in front.
- Seen from above the model resembles a cross, with a point, an acute corner, pointing in each of the four directions.
- Bring the four points together two and two, and flatten the model as a triangle.
- The triangle base is finished. It has an open edge at the top, a closed corner at the bottom, and two acute corners to each side, on top of each other. The model has four layers of paper and an area the quarter of the original paper.
